On the 7th June NAT hosted a conference entitled ‘Help! There’s an Asylum Seeker in our Church.  The event, which was funded by Tearfund aimed to provide local church groups with knowledge and information which would help them to support asylum seekers and refugees in their congregation. The conference included workshops run by experts in their field as well as group worship and sessions on understanding the asylum system. It was a great success with over 50 people attending from churches all over the city and county.  We feel that we were able to engage with many new people and have already had people interested in volunteering and becoming trustees following the conference.  Thank you to everyone who waas involved and contributed to making it such a fantastic event!

Our New Documentary Film

The conference also saw the launch of a new documentary film on destitution which was developed by the Nottingham Arimathea Trust in partnership with the Nottingham & Notts Refugee Forum and Host Nottingham.  The film received very positive feedback from people attending the conference and is now available to view on our website.
