Help For Destitute Asylum Seekers

If you are destitute and living in Nottingham you should go to an advice session at Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum. Advice sessions run Monday – Thursday and are on a first come first seen basis. To get into an advice session you are best to arrive by around 12:30pm. When you see an advisor you should tell them you are destitute and they will refer you to the destitution coordinator, who will make sure you are able to get food each week and £10 in cash every 4 weeks.

If You Are Homeless

If you are street homeless you can also contact the Street Outreach Team at Framework on 0800 066 53 56. They can also assist you by providing additional advice and practical support with your needs.

How To Get Referred To NAT

NAT is a very small organisation and therefore we do not have capacity to keep our own waiting list or take direct referrals from people in need. You can only be referred to NAT for destitute housing by the Street Outreach Team or by the Destitution Coordinator at Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum. If these organisations feel you meet our criteria they may refer you to us when we have a space become available, however it is still likely that we get more referrals for accommodation than we can help.

Making Legal Progress

If you are in need, then you should make every effort to progress your immigration case with a solicitor or an advisor at Refugee Forum, as when a place becomes available in our accommodation, we are looking for people who have a strong chance of resolving their destitution through the legal support available.
