Destitution Ambassadors Project

The Destitution Ambassadors project has been set up to raise awareness about destitution, inform people about why asylum seekers may find themselves destitute and the impact this has on their lives, and generate support for the work carried out by Nottingham Arimathea Trust and similar organisations.

NAT volunteers, staff and residents are presenting talks and workshops to a number of different groups around Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, hosting stalls at particular events, organising conferences and creating a film which can be used to raise awareness.

It is important that people know the facts about the asylum process and that we endeavor to dispel myths and preconceptions that are encouraged by the media.  We aim to do this in a variety of different ways covering several different target groups which will make our mission and values more widely recognized and raise the profile of NAT as an organisation.
